Thermogravimetric Analyzer TGA PT1600|High-Temperature Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) is an analytical technique used to measure weight changes of a sample as a function of temperature or time under a controlled atmosphere and temperature program. It is widely applied in material composition analysis, thermal decomposition, thermal stability, and oxidation behavior studies, and is commonly used in polymer, food, pharmaceutical, composite, and chemical industries.
This TGA series adopts a top-loading design combined with a high-sensitivity balance and multiple high-temperature furnace options. The maximum temperature can reach up to 2400°C, supporting fast heating and cooling while maintaining excellent temperature control accuracy.
All systems can be optionally equipped with Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA), including FTIR, MS, or GC-MS, enabling detailed identification of weight-loss mechanisms.
The instrument complies with international standards: ASTM E914, ASTM E1131, ASTM E1868, DIN 51006, ISO 7111, and ISO 11358.

Applications
- Thermal decomposition behavior of polymers and organic materials
- Thermal stability and oxidation reactions of composite materials
- Quality control of food and pharmaceutical products
- Thermal property analysis of chemical and electronic materials
Application Example: Determination of Calcium Carbonate Content in PE Film
Under low-oxygen conditions, PE begins to decompose at around 400°C, while CaCO₃ decomposes at approximately 600°C. The filler content can be accurately calculated from the weight-loss steps, which is commonly used in quality control.
