Densi100 Series | Fully Automated True Density Analyzer
True density (absolute density) is a critical physical property of solid materials, especially powders. It is strongly influenced by chemical composition purity and solid-state compactness, and directly affects material quality, processability, and end-use performance. Due to operator dependency and liquid displacement errors associated with the traditional Archimedes method, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially released ISO 12154 in 2014, specifying gas displacement as the standard method for true density measurement.
The Densi100 Series utilizes fully automated gas displacement technology to rapidly and accurately measure the true volume and true density of solid materials such as powders and bulk samples. Sample chamber volumes from 1 cm³ to 100 cm³ are supported, and a single measurement can be completed in approximately 3 minutes, making the system ideal for quality control and high-throughput testing environments.
Measurement Principle
The instrument is based on the gas displacement method and Boyle’s Law (PV = nRT). Under constant temperature conditions, gas volume is inversely proportional to pressure. By precisely measuring the gas volume change before and after the sample is introduced, the true (skeletal) volume of the sample is determined. True density is then calculated by dividing the sample mass by its true volume.
