Product details

Thermomechanical Analyzer TMA PT1000|Thermal Properties and Deformation Analysis of Materials

The TMA PT1000 Thermomechanical Analyzer is a high-precision thermal analysis instrument designed to measure material deformation behavior under controlled temperature, time, and applied force. It is suitable for composite materials, glass, polymers, ceramics, and metals, and is an essential tool for the analysis of thermal expansion coefficients, softening behavior, and viscoelastic properties.

Key Features

  • Wide temperature range: Operates from -260°C to 1000°C, covering applications from cryogenic to high-temperature analysis.
  • High resolution: Displacement resolution down to 0.125 nm, ideal for detecting very small dimensional changes.
  • Multi-functional testing: Supports linear thermal expansion, volume change, phase transition, sintering behavior, softening point determination, and viscoelastic analysis.
  • Dynamic load testing: Allows application of different forces for viscoelastic material analysis, such as polymers.
  • Multiple sample holders: Suitable for various sample geometries, including films, fibers, and bulk materials.
  • Multi-atmosphere compatibility: Supports oxidative, reductive, inert, static, and dynamic atmospheres.

Applications

  • Material types: Polymers, organic materials, glass, composites, metals, and ceramics.
  • Industries: Automotive, aerospace, chemical engineering, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food industry, R&D, and academic research.

Polycarbonate (PC) example: Tests performed under different loads (1 cN and 2 cN) allow observation of softening behavior before the glass transition. Heating rate: 5 K/min.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) example: The glass transition temperature is approximately 93.2°C. Elastic behavior is maintained up to 150°C, followed by a plastic deformation region, clearly identified from the TMA curve.
