Honeycomb Setter – Alumina Honeycomb Substrate

The honeycomb alumina substrate features a porous structure, ultra-lightweight design, high mechanical strength, and excellent gas permeability. It can be optionally coated with zirconia (ZrO₂), making it an effective solution for a wide range of sintering process challenges. This type of substrate significantly reduces defects caused during firing and sintering, such as uneven thermal shrinkage, non-uniform heat distribution, or poor conformity to heating profiles. In addition, it helps lower overall production costs by reducing the frequent replacement of conventional flat alumina setter plates.


Si–SiC Substrates and Sintering Setters

Key Features

  • High Strength and Lightweight Design: The mechanical strength of SiC is approximately five times higher than conventional ceramics, while the weight can be reduced by about 50%.
  • Excellent Thermal Conductivity: Thermal conductivity of approximately 180 W/m·K, more than ten times higher than traditional substrates or setters. This enables rapid heating and cooling processes and can shorten sintering time by 30–40%.
  • Superior Oxidation Resistance: Service life is more than ten times longer compared with conventional materials.
  • High Design Flexibility: Custom molds can be developed to produce complex geometries according to specific process requirements.
